Our Name
Siloam Pool Care draws its name and inspiration from a miraculous biblical event, where a blind man was healed through the power of Jesus at the pool of Siloam. In the ninth chapter of the Gospel of John, Jesus and His disciples saw a man that was blind since birth. He told His disciples that sin was not the cause of the man’s blindness, but that the works of God might be displayed in him. Jesus spit on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and anointed the blind man’s eyes with the mud. He then told the man to go wash in the pool of Siloam and the man received his sight.
"As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him. We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Having said these things, he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man’s eyes with the mud and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). So he went and washed and came back seeing." John 9:1-7 ESV
Our Owner
Mark De La Cruz
Siloam Pool Care was formed by owner and operator Mark De La Cruz. Mark is a Certified Aquatic Facility Operator, Certified Pool & Spa Operator, Certified Pool & Spa Maintenance Specialist, and Certified Pool & Spa Retail Professional, with most credentials received through the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance. He is a former Kings Canyon Unified School District employee of nearly 10 years and gained the experience and expertise of the pool industry while maintaining the Aquatics Complex at Reedley High School. Mark was promoted to RHS as a Head Custodian in August of 2017 and assisted with overseeing the operation and cleanliness of the high school, including the Aquatics Complex. He then was hired as the school district's Pool Maintenance Technician in July of 2021 where he managed of the operation, maintenance, and repairs of their 731,000-gallon competition pool and 84,000-gallon warmup pool. Mark quickly saw a need for quality, professional pool care within his community and formed Siloam Pool Care LLC in March of 2022. He now uses his knowledge and skills full-time to serve his community and helping people with their pool and spa needs.
